The hubs and I had what you might call an “old married couple” kind of weekend. We cleaned our house Friday night (I know big times) and visited friends on Saturday to celebrate their little one turning 2.
Other than catching up with our friends for their tot’s party it really does not get more boring than that folks. I was careful to workout consistently all weekend and stay on plan with my diet. I was feeling pretty good about my progress so when Monday came along I decided to visit an old dear friend….Bikram Yoga.
I even took my spiffy new water bottle from my trip to The Greenbrier last week.
Bikram yoga was a HUGE part of my life for well over a year. I even briefly did work study at the studio. Somewhere along the way I fell out of practice and I had not set foot in the hot room since January! For those who are not familiar, Bikram yoga is a series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises completed in a room heated to 105 degrees and 40% humidity.
Just thinking about all of the amazing physical and mental benefits had me itching to go back. Plus, I know it is time I start working on toning and strength with my cardio. I feel like yoga is an amazing place to start.
I honestly thought it would be brutal or scary starting “from scratch” but it was truly like being welcomed by an old pal. My instructor told me I would feel good getting back in “my safe yoga place” and she was right. I left class with a killer workout and a clear mind. I am already planning to make it part of my weekly routine.
As for tonight we are planning to run and then throw some BBQ Cranberry chicken and veggies on the grill. YUM! I also wanted to take a minute and announce the winner of my Bauble Bar giveaway Meg B who commented:

Things that make me “all smiles” this week. Taking long walks on my lunch breaks. Taking my twin boys out for their first ice cream cones. Spring thunderstorms.
