You know how in the movies people run on the beach and it looks effortless and beautiful? My runs on the beach don’t look that way. Im constantly readjusting to make sure I don’t twist an ankle, the wind is usually whipping my hat off or some other hair related nonsense, and its usually pretty muggy. BUT even with all of its faults it is pretty difficult to resist a run on the beach. I mean really, who wouldn’t want this to be the backdrop for a good workout?
During our recent beach trip the hubs and I thought it would be a great time to test out the Bodyglide samples sent to me to review. Truthfully, Ive been waiting to write this review for a while.I wanted to really be able to express the awesome-ness of this product! Bodyglide isn’t new to me (my pal Andrea introduced me to the product during Princess ½ weekend) BUT it is new to the hubs. I wanted to get in several good (and different) trials before sitting down and putting out a blog.
For those who might not know (I certainly didn’t at one point) Bodyglide comes in a container that resembles deodorant. You simply “roll on” the product to any area that might be prone to chaffing. During a run or other cardio work out this can include the inner thighs or sports bra area. The idea is that the Body Glide allows for a smooth and easy “glide by” of two surfaces rather than the painful rubbing that can occur otherwise. There is even a specially formulated glide for the ladies! If you check out the website here you will see that there are actually several different formulas (including one specific for feet that Im looking to try next!) But, to be honest, Ive used the traditional Bodyglide stick pictured below for multi-purposes and its worked great!
A beach workout can cause all sorts of discomforts and the Bodyglide certainly helped on all counts. Both the hubs and I are huge fans of the product! It certainly does what it sets out to do and made our beach cardio session much more comfortable.
I have to say there are some less obvious uses for the product that Id like to share with you as well. This has become a go-to in my beauty bag for months now! Some of my favorite uses:
-Workouts (obviously) especially long runs.
-Sports Bra or Regular Bra areas that might feel rubbed from time to time
- Bare Feet (works AWESOME to help break in some new sandals and avoid blisters)
-Under Socks (I use it at the base of my toes to avoid blisters on long runs)
-Hiking (your legs can chafe in different areas than traditional walking/running)
The Bodyglide is gentle on your skin and doesn’t really have a scent. Its one of those staples that I never knew I needed until I tried it. Now I cant imagine packing my gym bag without it!
I will definitely be Bodyglide prepared for the Disneyland 10K next week!!! AND It at least took one worry out of the equation so my beach run could look maybe a touch more like it does in the movies!
What is your favorite gym bag product?
*Thank you to Bodyglide for the free product to review. As always, the opinions expressed here are my own.
