Once upon a time there was a little girl who loved Alice In Wonderland and another little girl who loved Mary Poppins. Even though these two little girls were about the same age they never knew the other existed until they were all grown up. On the Monday of Princess ½ weekend these two grown up little girls got all dressed up and headed out for a magical breakfast.
When we arrived at the Grand Floridian the weather was pretty much perfect- sunny but cool. We quickly made our way through the beautiful grounds and checked in at 1900 Park Fare for our breakfast reservation. We were given a super short wait time and we snapped a couple of photos in the garden.
Then it was finally time to do the one thing at Disney I’ve always wanted to do.
Andrea and I were taken inside the light and friendly dining area, our juice was poured, coffee brought, and additional beverage orders taken (we were still so thirsty from the day before). I was just in awe of how lovely and sweet the restaurant decor was.
If you’ve never been to a character breakfast, which I hadn’t, here is what to expect. You are seated and given directions regarding the characters rotation around the dining room. (They do a great job meeting and greeting everyone). Then you dash off to grab whatever your heart desires for breakfast. Simple, yes?
This buffet had everything- famous mickey waffles, lobster eggs benedict, omelet station, carving station, sausage, bacon, a fruit bar, pastries, oatmeal, sweets… you name it, it was there. Even a self-proclaimed buffet hater loved every bite. I may have ended up with two plates before everything was said and done.
I totally felt like a little girl again, eating Mickey Mouse waffles and watching my favorite characters skip around the restaurant. I was warm and fuzzy from head to toe!
Our first visitor was the Mad Hatter. He was really silly and fun. We wished one another a very merry un-birthday!
After Mr. Hatter left we had a big of down time so Andrea and I chatted for a bit and she explained to me the tradition that is strawberry soup!
Next, it was time for some bear hugs!
And finally, the best visit of all, ALICE! I seriously felt like a child giving Alice a hug and then posing for photos. Do you love that we are twinsies here? Do you think, in any way, that my outfit was by chance? ![]()
Last, but not least, Miss Poppins made her way over. We ended our breakfast at Park Fare with a girly group photo. LOVE!
On our way out I decided to pose with the sweet rides outside. No big deal- just hanging out with my new car. Hehe.
It was such a lovely experience, one I’ll always remember! We took one last photo to commemorate our beautiful morning and then it was off for one last day of magic and fun!
What is your favorite character breakfast? Who do you wish had a character breakfast? (I’d love to see the villains featured!)

Fun!! I’ve only done the Winnie the Pooh breakfast (at Crystal Palace). Park Fare is definitely going on my list though!! Looks like you guys had a great time!
