So Princess 1/2 Marathon weekend is over and Im back in good old Virginia with my sparkly Princess medal in hand. This is one of the most fun race weekends I’ve been a part of so I dont want to leave anything out of my recaps. So lets go waaaaaay back to last Friday morning….
I woke up at Andrea’s apartment in celebration Friday morning totally excited. She had picked me up from the airport late Thursday night and offered up a spot on her couch until we could check into our Disney resort the next day. So, bright and early, we packed up her jeep and headed on our way. It turns out two girls need a LOT of stuff for race weekend!
We checked into our hotel and quickly located the transportation to the expo. On the way over we chatted about bloggers we love, bloggers we love to hate, and bloggers who just need a good smacking.
We also chatted about Ali Vincent and Sean Astin- hoping to catch a glimpse of either at the expo.
Before we knew it, we had arrived!
The pick-up for our bibs was so quick and painless we thought we would be in and out of the expo in no time.
Soon we realized that would not be the case as the lines for shirts and other merchandise was a total nightmare. It was shoulder to shoulder princesses in lines that wrapped around and around the expo.
The Run Disney Merchandise was completely swarming with Princesses ready to shop. We must buy ALL THE THINGS was apparently the mantra for the weekend as shirts, jackets, mugs, and stickers were flying off the shelves. I manged to snag a really cute long sleeve tee and wine lass (of course). However, I was really disappointed to have to wait nearly 45 minutes to even get a glimpse of the merchandise!
Truly, it seems like the awesome space at the Coronado Springs Resort was not used to it’s full potential but live and learn. If my biggest complaint on Friday was a couple of long lines then I consider myself in pretty good shape! Perspective people!!
As soon as we had nabbed our Run Disney goodies we hurried over to hear Ali Vincent speak. For someone with a very significant amount of weight to lose Ali is a huge inspiration. Its amazing to see a real person who reached the goal that Im striving for. I was almost in tears listening to her.
Then something even cooler happened- I had the opportunity to meet her, ask for tips on significant weight loss, and share my story with her. She was supportive, helpful, and just a lovely person. It was a moment that I will not soon forget!
After a couple more stops at Raw Threads and Sweaty Bands Andrea and I were off to Downtown Disney. Water taxi? I think we will!!
It was a gorgeous day and quite the departure from the snow and ice. Our first stop was lunch at my vacation tradition Earl of Sandwich.
Then we shopped, shopped, and shopped some more. I found a new Alice In Wonderland shirt and had a great time going from store to store.
Finally, to round out the night Andrea and I decided to mosey over to Epcot for some fun. We even squeaked in a dinner reservation somewhere pretty great so we were both pretty pumped!
We checked out the Oz garden before heading over to dinner.
However, I cant lie- Dinner was the main attraction for the night. We had scored a reservation at Coral Reef and were both super excited.
Id heard great things about this place and it certainly didnt disappoint. I loved watching the fish swim by as we ate and it felt a little like we were dining under water.
Of course, I had to make it awkward and eat fish as well. Sorry guys!
It was definitely the perfect end to the first night of our girl’s weekend!
We crashed immediately at our hotel and got all rested up for some Saturday fun!!
What is your favorite Epcot dining spot?

Fun!! I’ve never eaten at Coral Reef, but it is on my list. We ate at Via Napoli that night, which is my favorite place to eat in Epcot!!
