So far so good on staying on top of things and maintaining my sanity this week. Work is extra busy through Thursday so Im pretty much functioning on a “just keep swimming mentality”. Not that this is a bad thing. Its really making the days FLY by!
I was all set to head to yoga after work but then the ONLY excuse for skipping out on class showed up.
Um yes. Remember how it was snowing on Friday?? Well today it was sunny and 75 degrees! As much as I loooooove me some yoga there was really only one place to go today.
The trail! Of course the trail. Even though I was later than normal the trail was still packed. I just cranked up my NSYNC jams (lets not judge) and enjoyed the view. Im glad I opted for a long sleeve shirt as the sun was setting during my run. However, the entire 3-4ish miles was comfortable and, yeah Ill say it, fun!
I ditched my running app around the 1/2 mile mark. I just wasnt in the mood. I walked when I wanted, ran when I wanted, and just had a nice calm evening on the trail. I cant really describe it other than saying I felt peace. A peace, I might add, that is much needed after my emotional weekend. I finished the run really strong and happy.
Well, happy until I decided to squeeze in some hill work. Im determined not to let those overpasses during the Disney Princess 1/2 Marathon defeat me. Id prefer to get up and over them without sucking wind on the side of the road. Sooooo hill work it is!
It was dark when I made it back to the car a sweaty happy mess!
As for today’s eats:
Breakfast: PB2, Apple, Belvita Breakfast Bar, String Cheese
Lunch: Chicken Tortilla Soup and an Orange (not pictured)
Snacks: 1 Granola Bar and 1 Banana (not pictured)
Dinner: 1 Turkey Burger topped with some (amazing) Wholly Guacamole with Spicy Pico
Tonight Im getting caught up on some TIVO. Vampire Diaries is calling my name!!
Keep checking back this week because I have a super exciting Disney announcement to make later in the week. (If I can keep it a secret that long!!)
And as for that yoga class I skipped…. well I’ll be there mat in hand tomorrow to make it up. Totally worth it!
Whats the weather like in YOUR city today?

Ugh – hill work. I know I need to work it in (and even though I live in Seattle, surprisingly I can find a decent amount of non-hilly routes). Good for you! I’m with you – sometimes you need to ditch the running app (or intervals) and just go. Ha! I have been living in a just keep swimming mentality for awhile – my friend and I will send each other messages that say just keep swimming to bring our spirits up when life gets crazy.
Oooh – Disney secret?! How fun!!
Judging by my performance yesterday I should be taking those hills on more!
