Happy day before Friday!! As many of you know Thursday is my busiest day of the week. I go work my regular 8 hours at the office, rush downtown to Bikram yoga and take a 90 minute class, and then rush to change out of my sweaty clothes and spend the rest of my evening completing my work-study shift at the yoga studio. Whew! It’s a lot. Luckily my day started off on a hilarious note when the hubs got caught up in telling me a story about how the Queen’s four Corgi dogs have armed escorts. Maybe you had to be there but imagining Corgi’s with body guards totally cracked me up.Maybe my corgi needs armed guards. What do you think?

Aside from a positive attitude these looooong days also require organization. I thought today would be a perfect time to try out my new gear from Laptop Lunches. I was really excited when they offered to send over a sample of their Bento-Box for me to review.

The Bento Box is exactly what you are imagining- a large box with portioned off sections for various food items. Some of the internal containers come with lids (for your fruits and soups etc) and some without (for sandwiches, crackers, etc). There is even a tiny container for dressing , nuts, or toppings.

The boxes themselves come in a variety of options and colors. I chose the black with (what else?) hot pink interior. LOVE!

I know most people would probably use these for lunch but I decided to think outside the box (pun intended- heh) and make a little bento breakfast box! In the mix was 1 chopped apple, PB2 powder, 2 tsp skim milk for mixing, BelVita breakfast crackers, and 1 skim string cheese. This was an insanely filling 9 WW points!

The best part is that everything stayed in its own little spot. I love organization so this box was perfect for me. My only complaint was it felt a little awkward to carry BUT luckily Laptop Lunches offers traditional lunch-bag style carrying cases. I think I just might have to order the pink and black one!

Today’s lunch (late late late lunch) was a cheese free, sour cream free, bowl from Chipolte. Delicious!

Then it was off to class and my work-study shift. The hot room felt soooooo good with this cold weather.  I could have curled up an hibernated in there. And, as always, my shift was a lot of fun. Tonight’s chalkboard post made me smile so naturally I had to Instagram it! ;)

Since I was getting home so late I decided dinner would be a repeat of yesterday’s Berry Green Smoothie. Hit the spot!

What is YOUR favorite lunch on the go?

I don’t have a good lunch on the go unfortunately. In fact that is when I get in trouble – when I’m super rushed and I haven’t planned out my lunch. I love the compartments of the bento box! Such a good idea.

  2. I love that Bento Box! I need to bite the bullet and get one because I’m all about bringing my lunch to work to save money.
