So, I turned 33 over the weekend! 33 isnt exactly one of those ages that brings a lot of fanfare or attention. However, 3′s are sort of lucky for me so turning 33 on the 13th in 2013 felt kind of promising somehow. In any case it was a lovely weekend and a lovely way to welcome a new age. The fabulousness started on Friday night when I came home to find the hubs had already picked up a beautiful Birthday cake for the weekend. Isnt it adorable?
Alice is my favorite Disney character and I collect any Alice In Wonderland items I can get my hands on. I thought it was sort of funny, and worth mentioning, that while the hubs and I were out running errands Friday night we stumbled upon a random Alice water bottle at TJ Maxx. It’s now my new yoga bottle!
Even though my Birthday was technically not until Sunday, Saturday was going to be the bulk of the celebration. I had a couple of girlfriends coming into town to hand out and spend my Birthday observed doing some fun girly things. My friend Tiffany was the first to arrive so we headed over to Body Works for some manicures, pedicures, and lots of laughs! The girls here were super sweet and we had a great time relaxing, chatting, and getting pampered.
Kristen and Siobhan met up with us at the spa and the 4 of us headed over to my favorite lunch spot in town, Isabellas.
I could not have asked for a better group of ladies to spend my day with!
As always, lunch was amazing. I did a tuscan white bean soup with 1/2 chicken panini. Even though my lunch was fabulous I still had some major food envy going on. Everything looked amazing!
After lunch we were off to the movies where we saw Gangster Squad. As far as Im concerned Ryan Gossling can do no wrong. Whew! He was def a Birthday treat. Ahem. And speaking of treats, we headed back to my house after the movie to cut into that amazing Alice cake. Delicious!!
The girl’s hung around while I ripped into gifts from the hubs. He wrapped everything in Hello Kitty paper which totally made me smile. Love!
I got some really amazing gifts- the hubs went all out this year and my friends were amazingly thoughtful and generous. I ended the day with a huge smile and a serious case of the warm fuzzies.
While the hubs and I spent my actual Birthday a little more low key with brunch and a movie I have to say this weekend was a perfect start to 33. I hope my whole year is filled with this much love, laughs, and comfort. Thank You friends!!
