It’s Ok to Make Yourself a Priority

The title really says it all. With so many commitments: family, work, school, social obligations etc etc etc it can feel a bit indulgent to carve out a chunk of your day to workout. But, I am here to tell you it’s not indulgent–  Its necessary. Now, I am not saying you have to pencil in two hours a day for excessive over the top sweat sessions, but you most definitely should find a little corner of the day to workout. Staying fit, healthy, and getting your sweat on will ultimately make you better at fulfilling said obligations. Not to say that doing this is easy.

Tonight, with the hubs only having three nights left in town, the LAST thing I wanted to do was leave him for 90 minutes to workout. However, once class was over I was a sweaty happy mess. I was so happy to have given over 90 minutes to a Bikram yoga class. Plus it didnt hurt that this is what was waiting for me when I got out..

You know it’s love when your significant other will still scoop you up in a hug right after a hot yoga class!!!

The hubs even stuck around to help me with my work-study tasks. We also might have browsed the Shakti site a bit looking for yoga gear. Im pretty sure I am going to need these shorts.

When I finally made it home I found that the hubs had been hard at work on his “honey-do” list. He hung the cool wine/name photos that we received as a belated Christmas gift. Ive been dying to see it up in my dining room!

I also had a sweet little pick-me-up surprise via snail mail from my parents.

Sometimes it really is the little things. Add all of this to the fact that today is my “Friday” and I have a three day weekend ahead and I am calling it….It was a GOOD day!!! (And I dont regret my 90 minutes at the studio working out one bit!)
