After the previous night’s adventures Kristen and I were both pretty tired Saturday morning. In fact, I made an extra huge pumpkin coffee to get me up and running.

We had unfortunately missed yoga but that tends to happen when class starts at 7:30 and you didn’t fall asleep until nearly 3:00. We didn’t dwell on that fact though but rather busied ourselves in getting ready for a fabulous day in Richmond. I was pretty pumped for an excuse to break out my new Missoni for Target flats…

Kristen and I may have been running a touch late but we paused to snap a photo of our matching green manis!

Then came the magic question…Do we have time to stop for breakfast? It was 11:00 at this point and we had a 2 + hour drive in front of us. We decided to go ahead and stop at Panera but made sure we were “all business” ie: eat and get out. We were cutting it close to show time! We both opted for souffles. The bacon and spinach is a favorite of mine and it is delicious.

After breakfast we were decked out in our green bags and on the road. Everything was going just wonderfully under my GPS suddenly died. There was no warning, no blinking, no buzzing, no flickering. It was and then it wasnt. BAM! So Kristen and I, being two very directionally challenged girls, had a brief moment of panic. We whipped out her I-Phone which, it turns out, was not as helpful as one might hope. Three wrong turns and three loops around Richmond later it occurred to me that I too had a navigation system on my phone. At least the day and the drive were gorgeous!

There was some sort of rally going on at the university so traffic was a nightmare. Luckily we managed to pull into the parking garage with 4 minutes until curtain!

This is my fourth time seeing Wicked and its always magical. We got the cheapie balcony seats but still had an awesome view of the stage.

After the performance we were starving so we set out to find some close sushi. It seemed like Sticky Rice would do the trick.

I did not care for this little joint the first time I went so I am not sure why I thought this time would be any better. However, it was close and we were hungry so I thought why not? We started dinner with a bucket (yup a bucket) of tots. It was so random we felt like we had to order it. Five minutes later a bucket of piping hot tots arrived at our table.

These guys were my indulgence for the week. Im extra thankful now that we ordered them because our sushi, as cute as it was, was an epic fail. I am talking inedible, gray crab, couldnt get more than three pieces down between the two of us fail!

Just when we thought the meal couldnt get worse a very drunk (at 6:00pm might I add) girl fell off her barstool and, well, lets just say we now know about as much about her as her gyno does. True story. It was so epically bad that there was nothing to do but laugh about it. Moral of the story…if a place serves amazing tater tots– always skip the sushi!

We were still all smiles as we headed back to lynchburg. It really had been a great weekend.

Have you ever seen Wicked?

I love Wicked!! I tried to read the book but couldn’t get through it. But I’ve seen the show twice!
